How The Law Affects Peoples Everyday Life And A Business...

1. INTRODUCTION The law affects people’s everyday life and a business is not an exception. The law can be simply described as the principles, rules and regulations, created by the state and established within a community. Therefore, this report will focus on the research of three types of law: Contract law, Tort law and Employment law in the business context to give a legal advice to the Wicked Theatre Group in regards to follow the right procedures. 2. CONTRACT LAW RESEARCH 2.1 Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Company (1893) EWCA Civ 1 is one of the most discussed case in the contract law because of its extraordinary subject and due to the provision of the basic rules of the contract low, i.e. an offer and an invitation to treat. Advertisement: The medical firm Carbolic Smoke Ball Company advertised a ‘smoke ball’ as a drug which can prevent from getting a flu, with the instructions of using the ball three times a day for the period of two weeks. The advert also stated, that if it did not help as a preventive against the illness, the buyers will receive a  £100 reward. Plaintiff: Louisa Carlill believed that the smoke ball will prevent her from the influenza and purchased one packet and used it as instructed, however she had an attack of the flu anyway.
